In 2019 we decided to add a new addition to our family and undertook extensive research for the type of dog that would suit our lifestyle. That is just the start as we soon realised, getting your home ready, buying toys and games, never mind which vet do I use.

So, the plan for our new addition was to collect our puppy at the start of the summer holidays in July 2020. We had contacted a recommended breeder for the type of dog we wanted and visited them in February to check everything out and discuss our requirements. Things were all looking rosy to take our fur baby in July 2020.

Our well-intentioned plans and the like did not quite come to fruition. An email from the breeder in April 2020 asked us if we would be interested in taking one on earlier. This was because someone had given back word that they were no longer able to take the puppy on. The world had dramatically changed in recent weeks with the early onset of the pandemic. As we were both working from home at the time and weren't expected to go back to work for several months, we decided to adopt our fur baby 8 weeks earlier than we had planned.

It turned out to be a wild four weeks getting everything ready for the fur baby that we had planned.

We have learnt a lot along the way and this is why we decided to set this website up to share our story, along with hints and tips we had picked up along the way.
